I posted a question earlier today, or last night..i forget which.. that asked what my knee pain was from after i went on a 30 minutes bike ride ..with hills and flat roads... i wasnt quite in control of how hard i had to push ect.. and my bike is properly adjusted to me.. I've rode it twice so far, again form the last question i posted on how i rode my bike for the first time and after the ride my right knee hurt the knee cap /below the knee cap area.. This time ....while i was riding my bike... after about 20/25 minutes of warm up then steep incline then just riding around a bit faster, working harder ....i got shooting paint in the left side of my right foot started bottom on shin area and shot up to where my knee was hurting before..any insight on this? again, im going to try and take it easy (like i did today) ...and get used to it.. and make sure ot warm up.. and i took some ibeprofen.. but... seriously any good advice if you really know about this type of thing

You didn't say what sort of peddles you have on your bike?

What your experiencing is known to happen with cleats and clip in shoes. If one rides " pigeon toed " , tips of your feet pointing inward, one will experience exactly what your describing. When riding in this posture, your un-naturally moving your leg up and down , causing wearing close to the bone and over-extending the tendons.

To fix your problem: you what to make certain your heels are more inward than outward. Set you cleats in this position, almost to the point they touch your back frame bar.

In the interim , your going to what to ice your knees and stay off your bike for awhile till the swelling goes down. You can't see the swelling, but your tendons are inflamed.

Good luck and you'll back riding again soon!
