Hey Arnold Appreciation Thread #1: Because He's Our Football Head

^ :lmao: Talk about obsessiveness to a new level.

And when her mom threw out the shrine and Helga spent half of the day at the dump looking for Arnold's hat.

This one is cute.

Yeah, me too. It's such a classic. I always love the Christmas episode when the Asian man living in the house (forgot his name) had to give up his baby in what I assume was during the Vietnam War and sent her to America and he asked Arnold to find her for him and he spent all night with Gerald, searching for her with that guy from some district office, but couldn't find her. And Helga who was spying on him the whole time ending up trading her new boots, which was the last pair, and gave it to the guy and searched with him for the daughter and at the last minute she came, and Gerald tells Arnold: "Sometimes miracles come true," or something like that, and outside Helga says, "Merry Christmas, Arnold." I almost get teary eyed whenever I see that episode.

Seriously. What happened to all the old school Nick show's like this one, Doug, Rugrats, Hey Dude, and Salute Your Short's exc.?! That's when the network was in their prime IMO. Those were the show's I used to live for when I was little.

It was a bit disgusting with it being made of old chewed up bugglegum, but it was classic with the candle's in the back of the closet and I think she had a ritual where she worshipped him or something. I loved the scene where her parent's walk in on her with a blanket on her head and weird paint she put on and looked at her like she was crazy.

I have a series recording for Hey Arnold! and they seem to show it quite often on NickToons network :) It's so great to watch the episodes over again :sigh:

Anyone know a way to see the movie? Haven't see that in ages! :(

BTW, I liked seeing this thread on the first page :D

Just gotta say that Hey Arnold! Was my favorite cartoon, when I was younger. I liked how it had funny moments and serious moments in it's episodes!

I kinda think that her mother (wasn't her name Miriam?) was most likely a drunk. Though she could've been mentally out of it too. With how her parents ignored her, it's no wonder she always acted so---tough around people. And it's also no wonder why she had such a big crush on Arnold. He was so nice to her.

I love hey arnold! great thread :D

I remeraber this one episode with the stoop kid who afraid to leave his front steps and anything that fell next to it was never seen again lol

I always loved Helga's back story and sometimes feel a little sorry for her. I mean, she's got this great potential, especially with the poetry part (even if it usually means aiming her subjects at Arnold. But hey, kiRAB!) but in her parents' eyes, she 's not as successful as her sister Olga.

There's always that debate about Helga's mom, though. What do you guys think? Is she always just drunk or just mentally out of it?
