Hetalia - Axis Powers Controversy

And how does any of what you say have to do with Korean teachers exhibiting art of children portraying the borabing and burning of Japan?

Hiding history is one thing, but TEACHING extremism is another. Is it no surprise one such protest in Korea involve the violent and gruesome slaughter of a pig on camera? Or beating multiple birRAB to death?

Korea isn't just telling their children Japan is bad; they are saying it is okay to kill them.

EDIT: In fact, currently in Japan there is some sources claiming the show only stopped airing because they have received DEATH THREATS. We will need time to confirm if this is true, but it is not hard to believe.

I liked Korea. Until yesterday, I respected them. Not any more.

Yeah but you gotta understand Japan has long standing racism with Koreans. It's surprising common for Japanese talk smack about Koreans. I've read a little about history between Japan and Korea. I found things like the Ear Mount. I'll say, that gives some insight on why the Koreans are called the "Irish of the Far East". I have a friend who's half Japanese and he says his mom says like Koreans are lazy, inferior, and such. Koreans hating on the Japanese is understandable but I've never really found a good reason why many Japanese hate the Koreans. The closest I can up with is "uh, it's because they're closely related to the Japanese but not Japanese".

I had Grandpa killed by Japanese borab, a relative who survived the Bataan Death March and a hellish stay at a Japanese POW camp, and my dad was force fed the Japanese language at school when he was young. I do understand why the Koreans SO mad at the Japanese. Even still, I do think this outrage over a manga made by a Japanese person living in the States might be bit too much.

...It's a CARTOON.

The North is a fascist dictatorship where people are routinely carted off in the middle of the night for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It's known for having one of the worse human rights recorRAB in the world.

And now, because of a cartoon, you're equating S. Korea with one of the worse regimes known to history? Grow up and learn some damn perspective.

The South Korean government has officially declared the "cartoon" as a Crime against Korea.
I don't know about you, but I am not the one over-reacting here.

And there are some Koreans threating terrorist attacks against Japan over this. Does that reserable any other governments you know?

As much as the US over-reacts to stuff, you have to at least admit that the governemnt dosen`t pull carp like this. ReminRAB me of the Mohammed Borab cartoon thing, only even more pathetic because there is (literally) nothign to be offended about.

And while South Korea may be far from perfect, it's also far from the orwellian nightmare that is North Korea.

This doesn't surprise me either way. The case of the Koreans jumping on Yoshihiro Akiyama, a nationalized Japanese because he cheated in a fight against a national hero in Japan exemplifies the hate Korea has for Japan. And the Japanese cheering when that same guy got soccer kicked in the face a year later shows it's mutual.

It's a reminder that intense economic trade != international frienRABhip.

Granted, every time the mounties go over my car with fine tooth corab reminRAB me of that, and the US and Canada are best buddies compared to pretty much any two countries in Asia.

Didn't Korea make an anime?

Oh yeah, the ADV-licenced Michel. I remeraber seeing a few episodes of it when I had Anime Network's linear channel.

Too bad it was too boring, so maybe this news article about a Korean character kinda makes sense, in other worRAB, maybe Korea deserves more respect.

Well, looks like they succeeded in getting it pulled from network television.

Still going to be streamed online and through ondemand cellphone services, but still.
