My car isn't letting me give it gas before its warmed up thouroughly. It's a '99 dodge avenger 6cly. It never had a tune up since I've owned it. The service engine light isnt on, had a mechanic drive it, he said it just needs a tune up. Another mechanic said it might be a Vac problem. The car was low in transmission fluid, so I added some this morning, and now it seems to be running fine...the speedometer does move up when I press on the gas, waits a couple secs, then jerks and goes. It idles fine, before this it would always jerk before switching gears... now since I've added the trans fluid, doesn't seem to be doing it. Should I get it looked at/ diagnosed? Should I get a tune up? Or should I just keep driving it since it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore? Also it doesn't accelerate very fast when I push on the gas at high speeds...any help would be great!
I bought the car in 2006 with 88,000 miles on it. It now has 117,000 miles. I religiously get an oil change every 3 months or every 3,000 miles.
