Ok, this one is simple enough.

Whenever it's announced that there is to be a new James Bond the speculation starts cranking up and names get thrown about.
Rather than doing the usual he should be the next Bond,
who would have made a good James Bond but is now too old or passed it for the role?

I'm going to start the ball rolling with Patrick Stewart. Ok, he would have been the official first slaphead James but I think he would have been really good in the role 30 years ago.
He has the very British accent and would be believable as a womaniser that women are drawn too. He also can do the heavier confrontation scenes with the villain and command an authority in the scenes.

I can't think of one that's too old but I still think Dougray Scott would make a great Bond.
He proved that he can play the tough guy in 'Twin Town' and his Scottish accent will please the Connery fans amongst us.

Strange that cos so many people have told me that Dougray Scott would make a great bond...far better than Daniel Craig .And in ENIGMA he has a great english accent ! im suprised hes been overlooked for so long

He would be great doing his "thinking man" pose in silhouette during the opening credits whilst naked ("Wop, a bit of..too late") girls in silhouette prance around him.
:D:D:cool:

The skills he used on Play Your CarRAB Right would come in handy too...

Patrick Stewart would be far better suited as the classic over the top utterly rich Bond villain.

Its nice to have someone like Craig who is not a super human who never gets his hair put out of place.

Oliver Reed. :D

It must be said I have difficulty picturing any one in that role, other than the actual actors who've played Bond. They all kinda made it their own, even Lazenby...

I consider Sir Patrick Stewart a king among men, but as James Bond? Well, no...

Oliver Reed would have been a wonderful James Bond.

Anybody remember him in Women In Love? In Gladiator he acted everybody else off the screen, it's my favourite scene in the film.

A great actor, makes Connery look like a vaudeville turn
