Three days before the Florida primary, John McCain whips all the national security hawks in Florida into a frenzy by telling them that Romney's a coward and a hypocrite because he supported timelines for withdrawing the troops, essentially giving the terrorists our departure date. It was a blatant lie that won Florida for McCain, which led to big wins on Super Tuesday, and eventually the nomination.
Now, McCain's come out publicly and said "We'll be out of Iraq in 2013." How is that not a departure date?
I was watching the debate in California when McCain brought it up over and over and over. He may not have used the word coward, but he did use the word hypocrisy.
And yes, the "out in 2013" is a direct quote.
