Here is the prime example of why you will never see a cure for cancer.

Ignorance and outrage is much easier for the typical person to handle than the idea that we haven't "cured cancer" yet.

your logic is sound. "abolish the FDA so people can sell whatever they want as a cure for cancer, and people can buy it thinking it's medicine and kill themselves."

You walked in, and heard what I said, but didn't notice that I was responding to something someone else said- and then interjected your "yea, but...".

Go away. I wasn't talking to you.

Wasn't talking to you, either. You might be smart enough not to have laughed at such a suggestion in 1961. I was giving MBP a little less credit.

In 1961 there was no mechanism for how a pulse of coherent light could reshape a cornea. It just wasn't understood that a particular frequency of coherent light (coming from a device that had not yet been invented, since functional LASERs were in their infancy) could be directed (by another device that had not yet been invented) to reshape the cornea without damaging it.
You probably don't know jack shit about LASERs, and I'm doubting you know much about magnets, either. You just think "well, that ain't fer real" and assume it can't be done. Did you know you can use magentic forces to take pictures inside people's bodies? WOW!!! Who'd a thunk it?!?

Fascinating.

On another note,

We do know that hyperbaric treatments can reduce recovery time and improve healing after surgery, but it still isn't very common. It just seems like sometimes when things are "too easy" that they are largely ignored, even if the mechanism by which they work is as plain as day.

I imagine you weren't talking to anybody here. This is a forum. You type posts, post them, and wait for a response. A 1st grader could tell you that. If you think you were talking to anyone, you ought to get your medication checked.
