Helpful Verizon Codes

[*]*228 80 - force update, ignore fails
[*]*228 99 - force seconday tower update
[*]*228 00 - original tower update

What are these updates? Is this to make your signal stronger? My mother was told about something like this and I thought she was mistaken.

When I did the "00" it failed, but then again, so did the "80."

Thanks for the tips.

True, for the most part. If you have a VZW "World Phone" it will have a SIM slot. You need a SIM card to use GSM in Europe with a VZW phone. However, the GSM service will not work in N. America.

If you dial #HOPE (4673) from any Verizon Wireless cell phone, it connects you directly to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

I have used this code on an old phone without paid service, and it worked.

A very good code to keep in mind for safety reasons. I haven't been able to call any toll free 800 numbers with that phone (doesn't go through), but the Verizon Hopeline code does go though and was such a blessing.
