Im currently on the first month of taking Depo-Provera for my first ever time. I have been bleeding ever since and now it is a type of browny colour. My boyfriend and I have had sexual intercourse on many occasions and there may have been ejaculation several times.

Im currently getting stomache cramps, which I have suffered from in the past, but I have no idea what to think. Im not sure if I could be pregnant or not. Im also a young age, and if my mum found out i'de be killed.

I would highly appreciate if someone could please help me by giving me advice or telling me what you think I should do about this.

I started Depo-Provera 15 years ago (have just recently stopped due to becoming post-menopausal) but I had normal periods for the first 12 weeks time but by the second shot, they began to decrease until finally all I saw was spotting and staining (the brown stuff you describe).

Usually they give a pregnancy test to be sure you are not pregnant before starting you on it. Did they do this? If so, I am reasonably sure you are not pregnant.

If you are bleeding, spotting or staining a lot, or if you believe you might have been pregnant or became recently pregnant, you need to contact your gynecologist as soon as possible.

I hope this is just something that is normal for you and everything will adjust in time.

i've been there (& guess what? i'm still bleeding & i didn't bother to get my 2nd shot!)

depo is just the bc of hell & there's tons of bad symptoms that come with it.
unfortunately for the majority of us it's the cramping, bleeding/spotting, gain weight, etc.
so my guess is that it's just your body attempting to adjust.

you're probably not pregnant either, but taking a test wouldn't hurt to make sure.

best choice is to just switch bc or talk to a doctor about it to stop the spotting.
