Help with vx8550

The only other thing I could suggest is to try a different computer, if you have access to one. See if the other machine will let you use the vx8500 .DLL.

My thinking is that those settings do not apply for Cricket MMS, so leaving them untouched would have been the best way to go. To be sure, I would see if I could firmware flash the phone first so that all those settings are nuked.

I wish I could get my hanRAB on one so I could investigate for myself--I could be of more help to you.

One last guess: Try leaving Post CGI unchanged and use /servlets/mms for the Post URL.

Thanks for all the info berry. I got the settings wiped out and now I cant get it to ota for the initial programming. Any suggestions for this?

Thats what i was doing, i found it after i made my post. I downloaded cdma workshop and put in my min and direct nuraber, so the initial programming went away and i can use the phone. Now onto trying to get the rest to work.

Needing some help with my vx8550. I had it flashed about a month ago(didn't want to mess it up so i had some one do it) Was told that everything would work, but thats not the case. Only thing that works are the calls and regular text messages. So ever since I found out they wouldn't work, I've been searching to find a solution. I get everything needed to access the phone, follow the how to thread for the vx9900 and mms still doesn't work. Is there something I'm missing or over looked ? I can receive them, just can not send. I keep getting MESSAGE SEND FAILED.

VX8550
1039 prl
LG Download 1.3.6.3 professional
9900 dll -- tried the 8300 and 8500 dll but would freeze at 33% going into DM mode

Also every time i restart the phone, it says registering applications. It never did this before i had it flashed.

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. If I've over looked something, i apologize, and please point me in the right direction. Thanks

I would call cricket and ask them to reset the mms on the account. just tell them sending is not working and ask them to refresh. it happens sometimes even on cricket phones because there are two codes for mms one for sending and one for receiving.

as far as the registering applications... i think it is trying to connect to verizon's brew servers, which it can't since it's on the cricket network now. i don't think there's a way to get rid of it, it's just a minor annoyance when you power up the phone that you have to deal with.

I did an 8500 for someone and couldn't get mms to work either. I had the same problem with the 8500 DLL. When you went to NV Edit it would go to 72% and just stop. So it definetly isn't just his computer. He is using it so I only have a few minutes to play around with it before he had to go.

Thanks for the info. I tried to get them to reset it but the woman on the phone kept saying, its a flashed phone, it's not going to work, flashed phone this and flashed phone that. So that did not get me any where. Any other suggestions?

No i dont have access to a different machine. Wap works flawlessly but just cant send a mms message. I dont know if this would be of any help, but when i browse through the mms file in BITPIM, theres an ip address at the very bottom. Would that cause it not to go through?

Dam i type the whole thing and then it didn't post. So i'm lazy to retype them all so here is the short version of it

UAProf URL in User Agent: servlets/mms (notice it different than the vx9900 where it have a /servlets/mms)

everything else is that save as vx9900 good luck and reply back if it work for you so other can use this help for thier phone

the 8550 is hard to flash because there is no dll to know what parameters to change in lg download. use the vx9900 thread, look at the lines that berry changed, and search for them in lg download and change. THEY WILL NOT BE IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE 9900 SO BE CAREFUL.

my 8550 couldn't send mms either, so i just figured maybe i changed something incorrectly. its not a big deal, cause the camera on the 8550 sucks anyway :) get a 9900 and be done with flashing forever :P

Thanks for the info

Heres what ive tried with post url and post cgi left blank i get message send failed
UAProf URL in User Agent:/servlets/mms
UAProf URL in User Agent:servlets/mms

When i leave the post cgi (?message-id=)
MMSC POST URL: Anything i put in there results in "service not activated on network" with either UAProf URL's
MMSC POST URL: Left empty "message send failed"

I found a 8550 dll on humpa's site. Loaded it up, and the mms tab is different but not much. It has a place empty which is MMSC Post URL. I tried putting http://mms.mycricket.com. Now when i try to send a message it's saying, message expired or not fully available. Does anyone know what might go in that field? Or is that right and i need to try to get them to reset my account? Thanks

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!

I just did a vx9800 V, which has the same MMS configuration settings as the vx8550.

The settings are as follows:

Server Name: http://mms.mycricket.com
MMS UAProf URL in User Agent: /servlets/mms
MMS Sending From Field Type: MDN Only
MMSC Servder Post URL: http://mms.mycricket.com
MMSC Server Post CGI: ?message-id= (leave this as the default settings)

I used the vx9800 .DLL file.

HA! :2thurabs:
