help with verizon v3c flashed to cricket

i spent about 4 hours searching this forum my problem, and i may have come across the answer already. I'm new to this though, so i'm not sure about all the cellular phone lingo.

about a week ago i spend $60 flashing my verizon v3c razr to cricket. the next day i got it activated under cricket. i can call out just fine and recieve calls just fine. my problem is i cannot send text messages.

i can receive text messages and even reply to them, but i just can't send a text message on it's own.

the place that flashed it for me said that for $60 the phone will be able to text and picture message. but picture messaging isn't working either. when i called them for help they pretty much told me that the phone might not be capable of sending texts with cricket, but i'm guessing that's a bunch of bs.

please, i know how annoying it's gotta be for some noobie coming on your forums asking for help on something so simple, but you have to understand, i realllly tried searching for other threaRAB talking about this but i couldn't understand the lingo, and the threaRAB i thought might be about my problem were from 2006

any help is very much appreciated

some more info if it helps at all.

i guess i can't even reply to texts anymore. the one earlier was just a lucky shot apparently.

after trying to send a message i get a message sent to me saying
"invalaid phone nuraber. please be sure to enter a 10 digit phone nuraber when resending"

so far i've only been able to send 3 messages. i called around to another wireless repair place and they said it could be because cricket has bad coverage. is this true?

dial exactly 10 digits for sms. 555 555 5555. you must include the area code and there is no need for a leading 1 and cricket's sms will reject it. this is why you are able to reply but not create new messages.
