Hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum. I'd like to enable tethering on my Cricket branded V3c. From what I've learned so far I need reflash my phone with non cricket flash file. I've been messing around with my GSM V3 T-mobile branded phone about 3-4 years ago (ulocking, installing different monster pack, seem editing...). One thing I know is that you want to have a backup before you do anything. I was able to recover my phone a few times when it was bricked.
Anyhow I'm looking for a guide to reflash my V3c, what settings should be stored, how do I backup stuff and what has to be backed up on my Cricket branded phone? I've got MPT and can store contacts, pictures and other stuff.

the reason you can't resolve hostname I bet you are using the 1007 prl with evdo ???? and if you are using the alltel or RABT your evdo is not athenicating I bet if you load the 1040 prl wap will work....... or you can change the evdo username and password that will also work.......
 
well first off u cant use a gsm fone for a cdma network but all u need to do is get a razr and flash and evdo cricket prl and i suggest the verizon monster found on mobile-files for the flash it works well use rsd general or moto pst to program for wap and mms and enjoy
 
how can I change EVDO username and password?
I flashed it back to RABT and it seemed to work. Also while running Cricket flash I successfully activated the phone with *228 (it didn't work for some reason last night) and I was issued new prl 1013. It is also EVDO but I didn't see it in prl thread. Anyhow tethering works with 1040 prl but it's only 1x.
 
You would need to flash it with a Moto V3c OEM flash and or use a OEM V3c Upgarde and flash it on top of it, that way you dont lose any of your settings BUT it takes out all the cricket stuf plus it will enable tethering

can you guys point me in the right direction? I don't need the pictures :o) just what file must be changed to enable wap with EVDO 1007/1050 prls.

Thanks guys. I'm still somewhat confused. What would be a better choice OEM or AllTel?
According to this guide one has to backup all files with MPT and PST. MPT saves contacts, audio/video stuff. What do I have to back up with PST? prl?
Will I be able to get my original settings back if I reflash it with GATW_09.02.00R?
 
So I manged to reflash it (it's been a long day...) after I backed up most files with the exception of prl (I couldn't read it from phone). But I can not make any calls or activate it with *228. It connects to cricket tower and it says it can not complete the activation. It also mentions roaming, my original prl was 1007. When I dial any nuraber is says: "the cricket nuraber you've called is no longer in service".
I've followed the guide http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1336757&highlight=flashing+v3c and tried prl 1050 and then 1007 (my original prl was 1007). With 1050 prl I was getting 1X and with 1007 EV showed up (I had 3G in the past with cricket FW). I've used my own backup files and those avaiable here http://www.badongo.com/file/3409805 . I suspect something isn't set right in User Activation. In User Activation menu I have under NAM1: MIN set to my phone #, IMSI_11_12: set to 00, MDN set to my phone # and CMDA Sys ID: set to 4995 (I'm in Portland). Should I change anything else in programming menu? NAM 2?

Well, I just tried it and got back to cannot resolve hostname error. Can you help me to change evdo user and password? It's V3c Cricket branded phone and the only reason I flashed it is to enable EV tethering. I can not access WAP when I get 1013 prl from Cricket over OTAP.
 
the reason you are not allowed to make a call is because your MIN is wrong this is not your phone nuraber is is in the same fashion as a phone nuraber 10 digits but its different if you pm me with your phone nuraber I can look it up or you can call 1800cricket and ask them as far as the PRL since you are getting evdo with the 1007 I would remian with it
