Help with the name of a movie...

This is a bit of a long shot but one of you movie buRAB out there might just know what I'm harping on about...

Basically I remember watching this movie years ago on TV (prob about 10 years ago) where a little girl finRAB a special pencil and everything she draws comes to life.

The details are a bit hazy but I remember she drew a house and then she was able to visit that house (can't remember if it was in a dream or not).
There was a also something to do with a boy in a wheelchair whom she met when visiting the house that she drew. She ended up drawing the boy standing up so he wouldn't be paralysed any more but when she went back to the house the boy was still in the wheelchair and there were a pair of fake legs standing at the spot where she had drawn him.

I know it sounRAB as though I've dreamt this but honestly, it's a real film. Please someone help - it's driving me crazy!
 
Nope, but I remember a cartoon called Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings :)

Anyhoo, Paperhouse is a great little film. Director Bernard Rose doesn't make movies very often, which is a shame. He also made the incredibly creepy Candyman.
 
Penny Crayon can draw anything she wishes
Flat caps(?) and dogs and pussy cats
and plates of chips and fishes
For anything blah blah blah blah blah...I can't remember the rest!

Not sure about the flat caps bit either...might have been something else!
 
I think there must be more than one verse, as I remember the crocodile bit when I read it, but it was the plates of chips and fishes that I remember the most.

Just done a search, and none of them can agree on what it was.

EDIT - just found this:

oh my god! is there a bit where she draws her dad but screws up the eyes and her dad becomes blind.....wow I reckon I watched that film at around the same time as you....It made a big impact on me as a kid...I remember trying to describe it to a mate....eventually I stopped trying. I'm going to get that film now.
 
Yes that's the film. As aliasjones has said, the movie is called "Paperhouse".
I bought it on Amazon.co.uk and it arrived 2 days later. It was very nostalgic watching it again. Good film.
