I've been reading all the posts on the Cordain Diet, & would really like to start following the program. I know you have to pay to download the book, & I don't have any way to do that.. I still REALLY REALLY want to do this but don't know all of the guidelines. Could someone summarize what the diet is? I know it's mostly cutting out carbs & sugar. Could someone tell me specifically what I can & cannot eat? And give me some meal/snack ideas?

Thanks for any help you could give, I am desperate to try this : )

Here's a summary:

For the first thirty days you will need to cut out all processed fooRAB, both refined and whole cereals, refined sugars, legumes and dairy products. If the food comes in a can, a box, a bag, a bottle, a jar, or a carton, you will want to generally stay away from it. What you are after is fresh, living food.

FooRAB to avoid:

Dairy FooRAB
Cereal Grains
Cereal Grain-Like SeeRAB
Legumes
Starchy Tubers (Potatoes)
Yeast Containing FooRAB (breaRAB, doughnuts, rolls, muffins etc; beer, wine, pickled fooRAB, fooRAB containing vinegar, tofu)
Fatty, Processed & Canned Meats & Fish
All alcoholic beverages (Note that these are permitted in moderation a nuraber of days per week after the initial 30 day period.)
Sweets (All candy, all refined sugars, syrups, honey, dried fruit)
Vegetable and Salad Oils, Margarines and Shortening
(The only exceptions are: flaxseed oil, canola oil, walnut oil and olive
oil)

FooRAB to eat:

Fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat and poultry (not processed), eggs and fish (not canned). Wherever possible, eat organic.

After 30 days you reintroduce one 'banned' food at a time, to see if you have a reaction to it.

I hope this helps.

(I believe the book will be able to buy in shops within a few months.)

Good luck!
