So, i am planning to start a small horse business where i would care for people's horses while they are on vacation or unavailable, etc. I would go to the person's facility, do general horse care (stall mucking, cleaning water buckets, etc) as well as exercise the horse by means of riding or lunging. I would charge extra for people not a boarding barn (i.e. a place where the horse is not fed each day by barn workers). I have been riding for 10 years, both english and western, have worked with youngsters, and i have references available from my riding instructor and barn owner. I would plan to visit both horse and rider before they leave to get acquainted and learn specific instructions for the particular horse. The only problem is i am 14, and i dont know if i would get any business, so is this a feasible way to make a profit? Also, what sort of agreement should i have the owner sign, like liability for damage to facilities, if i get hurt, etc, in other words, what is reasonable? And is there anything i am forgetting, and any general advice on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys =]
