Power Handling: Kenwood has established "Rated", "Maximum" and "Peak" input power ratings for this woofer. The "Rated" input power spec is equivalent to the RMS Power Handling, the "Maximum" input power rating is a continuous power handling specification, and the "Peak" input power rating is equal to the "Peak Power Handling". The power ratings are as follows:

"Rated" input power: 400 watts
"Maximum" continuous input power: 800 watts
"Peak" input power: 1,200 watts

Thats what my sub's specs are. Going by this what amp should i be using? Would this sub handle 600w rms? What about 500?

Stick with a 400-watt RMS amplifier. Be sure you're matching the amp's impedance spec with that of the speaker.

You should be fine with the 500 watt amp but i think you would most likely be pushing it a little bit with the 600.
