Help with picking out a new phone.

I currently am on my parents family plan with tzones internet for $5/mo unlimited with my old k790. I really love the phone, but its getting a bit old, and some of the buttons are getting too hard to press, and weird things are happening with the software, and its just about time to get a new phone. I'm looking to get one for Christmas, either through my parents or with extra money I make. I really want a my touch or G1, but I don't think my parents would want to pay the extra $30/mo for 3G internet for the next 1.5 years until I graduate college, and I'm pretty happy with the cheap internet I get now for the money since I can get gmail , gmaps, youtube and tether it to my computer anyway with the cheap internet. When I upgraded to my k790a about 2.5 years ago, I just went through amazon and bought an unlocked phone because T-Mobiles phones sucked back then.
Actual Question:
Can I swing it with T-Mobile where I get a pretty decent phone through them for around ~$200-$300, or should I find an unlocked phone again?

Feature I Like of my k790a:
-The mp3 player
I'm pretty sure most phones now have mp3 players, but I'd like to have a dedicated 1/8" jack because I'm tired of the k790 proprietary port. I also like being able to play music through the phones speakers.
-Decent Camera
Not necessary, but the k790 did have an awesome camera which I used occasionally.
-FM Radio
Comes in handy trying to get the game somewhere where theres no TV and working out at the gym with the tv broadcasters.

Also what about the Nokia 5800, does that fair well? I watched the cnet video and it says there were some things that could be fixed to make it better in the final version. Have these things been fixed?
