at time t=0 a person on the ground throws a small ball straight up. its speed when it leaves the persons hand is v0. at the same time another person drops a similiar ball from a point directly above the first ball. the initial speed of the second ball is zero. the distance from the point where the first ball leaves the hand to the point where the second ball is released is D.
a) at what time do the two balls collide?
b)find D such that the collision occurs just as the first ball reaches its maximum height

any help is greatly appreciated!
