Help with my Tmobile Samsung Galaxy phone!?

I just got this phone today and for some reason the internet is not working. I had the G1 before this phone and my internet worked fine but it says that my plan is not up to where the phone is but that doesnt make sense..then it says that i dont have the right connection..so maybe i should click wifi? im confused because I know i have internet but its just not working
