Basically, get a amp that puts out more power than the sub needs. It's always good to have too much, than not enough. The sub will only draw what it needs, and there's always that extra ammount there for an extremely rare case of that one bass note that needs extra power.

i just got a 15" kicker l5 and 300 watt mono amp. the box on the amp says the maximum power is 375 watts. is the amp strong enough?

it will power it and you will get sound, it just won't be anywhere near what the sub is capable of handling. I would recommend a more powerful amp down the road if you really want to use your kicker to its potential. I have a 12 ince kicker with 1000watts and it hits hard!!!

yes its srong enough you just wont have the power that you could have. but amps are always under rated. you will be suprised how much power you will get out of it. but you could run more power to it and its really hard to blow a sub so if you had more power to it you really wouldnt hurt it either but i would say stck with what ya got you should be happy with it

find the OHM rating of your speaker, 2, 4 or 8
find the RMS rating for your speaker

than look on the amp for the RMS at that ohm.

less is fine, more is also fine.

just DONT CLIP THE SIGNAL. use as little bass boost as you can. set your gains properly(google it) and whatever happens, if the speaker distorts turn it down.

if you use bass boost, do it on the amp. not the headunit.

sub will sound muddy and like crap. get a new amp. The kicker solobaric needs 750watts. get an amo that will dish out at least 600watts. now the wiring will be up to you- do some homework- see crutchfield's website for wiring details. google "subwoofer wiring diagrams".
