Help with my fish problems please?

I just got a fish from my teacher and i brought it home today. The fish is hiding inside the log toy......but its layin on its side but still breathing. Is it just scared? Will i start swimming when it gets used to its new environment and once we get the rest of the other fish thats it is comfortable with? Im kind of worried.

What kind of fish?
Aquarium size?
Did you bring it home in the aquarium, or transfer it to yours?
How did you transport it?
Water Parameters?
etc.
