Help with kittens found outdoors?

We just found five kittens in the backyard. They are fairly young, probably only five weeks old. They have a greenish-yellowish mucus-like substance around and over their eyes that makes it impossible for them to see out of. Any suggestions as to what is occurring and how to fix it?
Need at home remedy. Not so sure if we are keeping the cats, therefore we don't want to spend too much money by going to the vet.

Sounds like some strays with cat flu, yes take them to the vets, they'll sort them out, it's highly infectious to other cats so anything the kittens have been in contact with make sure it's washed thoroughly. They should be fine :)

You should bring them to the vet's right away. Please do not bring them to the SPCA (if they are orphans then they WILL put them down, I've had terrible experience with the SPCA) In the mean time, you should clean whatever greenish-yellowish mucus around the eye you should clean it with a SOFT towel with lukewarm water.
Good luck & God bless :)
