Help with ipod screen unlocking! Forgot combo.... please im crying. ipod nano 5g?

Ok about a year ago my friend locked my ipod with a combo as a joke and got me worried then he unlocked it again. So the other day for some stupid reason i pressed SCREEN LOCK and it locked it. I have no idea what the combo is. I read if u plug it into ur computer it will unlock i did that but... itunes doesnt recognize the ipod. It says to uninstall and reinstall itunes again. How do i do this? Any other suggestions? Im a real moron
