Can someone answer these two questions and show the step-by-step way of how you did it? (Include formulas also). Thanks.
1. A 250 gram of metal sample is heated to 59°C. It is put into 200grams of H2O (Water) at 10°C. The final temperature of the water is 15°C. Find the thermal energy gained by the water, the energy lost by the sample and the specific heat of the sample.
2. 0.5kg of H2O (Water) at 15°C is placed in a Calorimeter. 0.04 kg of Zinc at 110°C is placed to the water. The final temperature of the water and zinc is 15.7°C. What is the specific heat of the zinc?
