Help with G1 USB to computer!

When I get the Mount button and click it, the PC does the usual new volume search action and a new drive D: appears under My Computer (Windows XP Home SP3)

However I try to browse the SD card and it comes back with a dialog saying 'Drive D: not accessible. The request could not be performed due to an I/O device error'

Any ideas?

I was having this error until I got a new SD Card, now it works.

Thanks for the pointer. I'm mystified that the mount prompt could be so hard to notice. What a huge change in behavior.

ok I hve a question too
I try to plug my g1 into. Computer and I do the whole mount thing and it tells me trn off usb storage. No where in my phone does it say usb storage. I'm confused and frustrated. Please help.
