I'm 24, female and as of right now weigh 191lbs. About 2 months ago I got sick of my weight and cut junk food, fried food, liquid calories(except skim milk occasionally) from my diet. I introduced portion control and have stuck to a 1200-1500 cal diet. I have lost 20lbs so far, however I want to step things up...
I want to get in shape and start working out and just got a used recumbent bike from a friend and I have a pair of 2lb free weight/dumb bell. I want to eventually start jogging/running but have asthma and out of shape, overweight so I wanted to start with the bike and go forward from there.
I know that you cannot 'spot reduce' fat that you need to lose fat overall to reduce fat, however I would like to start toning my muscles. Are there any arm exercises that I could do while using my bike that would start toning my arms, I have 'Oprah arms' and will toning them now help when I lose fat over? Obviously I would like to tone my entire body also...
Does anyone have suggestions, or recommendations?
Sorry I did not specify, but YES I am overweight in fact according to BMI I am obese, I am 64" and wouldn't be working so hard to lose weight if I didn't have to.
