I have a ford focus 2002 that blew the head gaskets. I have had them replaced but the car is still running hot. Not too bad though. The heat gauge went up about 30 minutes after I got it back from the mechanic. Went up about 3/4 too tacked out and then went back down to halfway and stayed but for this car that is still too high even if wouldn't have ran hot.
One of the top hoses that got into the water coolant tank stays very very hot. It seems there is a little too much steam coming from the water coolant lid also. My thought is that it is a cracked head and the mechanic didn't check it properly.
But I don't know, the heat stays mild/warm until l rev it up and the heat from the heater gets hotter the more I rev the engine. Could this be a problem with the water pump? I thought the water pump had to leak for their to be a problem with it. He installed a thermostat also. He is saying that it is the water pump but would like a second opinion. Thanks very much for any help.
Also was losing water or he didn't put enough in. When it started running hot the water dropped immediately. No leaks or anything. Also checked for water in the oil but there was none. Baffling.
