HELP with Flashing the New Samsung M810 S30 to CRICKET

I am new to Flashing and am currently trying to flash the new Sprint Samsung Instinct M810 S30. I have done the following:

1. I downloaded the drivers for the phone
2. Connected the phone via USB and put it on com port 2
3. I used uniCDMA to write the SPC to "000000"
4. Used QPST to write the PRL to Cricket.

After completing these steps and rebooting the phone I get a message saying welcome to America Roaming when pressing 611 and I get the Verizon message when I press *228 and get the Unable to program message as well when pressing 1. I have used several PRL's on this forum and have had no luck so for.

Does anyone have any tips or could tell me what I am doing wrong? Also can this phone be flashed for web as well or just voice and text?

Thanks

Use the 1040 Cricket PRL. I use the CDMA Workshop to write prls and then change the nam ports to Cricket's manually. I don't know what yours are since it is different from market to market.

I would suggest you hook up a cricket phone and read the nam ports to see what they say.

I am in Austin Tx. I have been selling phones for about 4 years now and am starting to flash as well so I am new to all of this. Do I actually need to be a cricket customer to know if the phone is flashed or how do I go about this. I use sprint and am just looking to flash some of these newer model phones I have to cricket to offer more of a variety. can some post the PRL that I need?

Ok I have started over again and used the 1042 PRL this round and when dialing 611 I get the American Roaming Network and when dialing *228 I get the normal verizon message, after I press 1 it tells me that the phone cant be programmed at the moment. Is this normal or am I missing a step?

What I was trying to say is check the nam ports and see that they are correctly programmed. You can do this by hooking up a cricket phone to the CDMA workshop and seeing what those settings are.

I have flashed this particular phone several times. Everytime I do, I have to set the SID/NID pairs to the local Cricket market here. Then I am able to do a 611 and get Cricket customer service.

Bottom line: if you dial 611 and don't get Cricket, it is usually the prl or the SID/NID pairs are incorrect. And by the way make sure you are using *2 instead of *228 to activate as this particular phone requires that.

I hope this helps you out.

Ok I found a list of PRL including ones for cities that are close as well. When I dial *2 I am getting an error message that says to call 611 for cricket customer care via your cricket phone. I went into the phone and the prl is showing to be on 1043 which is correct but I am still getting welcome to americas roaming network when dialing 611. I dont have any cricket phones do read for the sid.

*2 or *228 is how you activate your phone. Since you have not activated it with Cricket yet, it isn't going to program all the way.

You are good to go. Activate the phone with Cricket, press *2 and you are done.

So basically with the phone reading the cricket PRL and even though I am getting the Americas roaming network when dialing 611 the phone is actually flashed with talk and text and I can sell now to where it can be taken in to cricket and activated. I am not looking to use this phone for myself I am wanting to flash and sell this particular model considering its more valuable on cricket right now vs sprint. Just wanted to verify that its good to go so that I can deliver.

Anyone make a copy of the MMC on one of these M810 before flashing it? If anyone that has one on still on sprint (active on sprint) PLEASE make a MMC file before flashing. Thanks.

The bottom line is this:

If you are able to do a *2 and it comes up with Cricket service then you have a phone flashed to Cricket service. Sometimes 611 doesn't work because the SID/NID pairs are not the ones that Cricket uses in your area.

As Insanecain said earlier, manually program the phone. This can be done by simply pressing ##000000# on your phone (provided the SPC is all 0's). Then you enter your MDN/MIN and SID. And you are ready to go.

At the risk of sounding rude, I will say that way too much time is being spent on a basic flash that should take about 5 minutes. Not wanting to be mean but don't look too much into it. The basic flash is pretty easy. You just:

1. Make sure the SPC is all 0's
2. Write the PRL
3. Test it with 611/*228/*2
4. Your done.

Can anyone tell me how to change the wap/mms settings on a samsung m810. I already changed the mdn/min, prl and spc. Thanks in advance.

I'm outta Austin as well.

Ur PRL should be 1040 for basic talk/text or 1014 for if u want to get WAP/MMS to work

Home SID/NID should be 4279/65535

MSID/MIN should be 5124380056

First of all, install the latest samsung usb driver. Once that done, connect the phone, open qpst, and click on ports. If your phone is on there it should says SURF something, click on it. If you don't see the phone, click add port. You can do only basic talk and text flash. If you want web (no mms solution on the m800 or m810) you'll need Samsung PST, m800 SamsungPST FW msi, and m800 mmc for cricket if you want cricket service. You can find all of these on HOFO or Mobilefiles.us and google.
