Help with Electronics project...adding LED and PIEZO?

buzzer to a 500 hotline phone.

Building a batphone.

the LED should light up Simultaneously to the buzzer sounding which should happen when a call comes in Using power off the phone circuit.

I had a set of instructions from Millionaire playboy but they do not jive.
yes I do want to get rid of the ring ring and replace with the piexo buzzzzz sound.
Also the buzzer is 12v. and is not making its regular buzz sound when connected it makes a high pitch sound.

Do you think that it gets a high pitch from too much electricity going through the piezzo buzzer?

So let me understand what you want to do....
You want to use one of those old phones, connect it to a regular phone line, and instead of having it go "rrringgg" you want it to go "beeep" and have a LED light up at the same time.
I didn't have the patience to read the instructions from Millionaire playboy, bu this is how I would do it.
1) Make sure the phone actually works. Have someone call you to verify this.
2) UNPLUG the phone!
3) Open the phone (screws on the bottom), and locate the bell, and especially the coil that activates it. This coil must have 2 connections. Disconnect (un-solder) those.
4) Since the ringing signal is AC and not DC, get yourself a bridge rectifier >100Volt approx. 0.5Amp ( = 500mA). This thing has 4 legs marked ~ + ~ - Connect the 2 legs marked ~ to where the bell was connected to.
5) Connect one end of a resistor 2.2kOhm 1 Watt to the rectifier marked +
6) Connect the + of an electrolytic capacitor 10uF 50V to the other end of the resistor. Connect the - of the capacitor to the - of the rectifier.
7) Connect the piezo buzzer (I assume it runs on 5 Volt DC!) in parallel to the capacitor.
8) Connect another resistor 220 Ohm 0.25Watt to the + of the capacitor. Connect the Cathode of the LED to the other end of that resistor. Connect the Anode of the LED to - of the capacitor.
