Help with Ecology Homework: Organisms and Adaptations to their environment?

If you are feeling game try a domestic animal (might pay to check with your teacher first). Treat humans and their interference in the animals reproductive cycle (i.e. breeding) as just part of the animals biome. Emphasise the co-dependent relationship between the domestic animal and homo sapiens.
The advantage is that there is a wealth of information on the origins of domestic animals. And it is possible to make first hand observations. Animal breeding is like accelerated evolution.
 
I have a homework assignment for Science class due on Wednesday of this week. What we have to do is take any organism on earth, and list the following for each:
Name of Organism
Biome organism lives in
Biological, physical and evolutionary adaptions
Behavioral Adaptations

We need to do this for 24 organisms.

The teacher offers some reference materials in class, but doesn't allow us to take them home. Instead, she wants us to use other sources, like the internet, encyclopedias, etc to find the answer.

I don't want you to do my homework for me. But I'm having some trouble trying to find this information, and the only source that I've found remotely helpful is Wikipedia. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get this sort of information?
