Help with Boot-camp Mac CoD WaW cheats?

I recently installed boot-camp on my Mac computer. I also installed Call of Duty: World at War.
I installed all the patches needed to play the game.
Whenever I press the button you're supposed to press [~] to bring up the ability to use cheats, nothing happens.
Is this because I am using the incorrect button on the Mac key board?
Please Help
