Help with BIOS flash installation?

Right, im trying to fix my sims 3 and asked a question about it..

I'm seeing is answer 2 is working so i downloaded and saved it and all that and when i click on it, an error message says:
The AC adapter and battery must be plugged in before the system BIOS can be flashed.
Press OK when they are both plugged in or press CANCEL to quit.

They are both plugged in on my laptop.
I dunno if it has to do with that my battery is sort of dead, like when i unplug my laptop from the mains it will switch off in about 5 seconds.

Can anyone help?
or anymore answers for my first question i gave the url to?

As long as the mains is plugged in and as long as you don't have a power failure you should be alright to flash your bios. However I very much doubt it will help that much with any problems you are having with Sims 3.
