Help with a friendly debate? I say if Alexander Hamilton were alive today he'd be a...

Hamilton was a proponent of a strong central government. For example, It was he who realized after the Revolutionary War that the states would need Federal help to pay off their war debts. Seems to me that is more a philosophy of the Democratic party as it is today.
What reasons, if any, do your friends give for disagreeing with that?

I think he would be more of a Constitutionalists or join one of the "third" parties. Actually though he'd either be really old or this is a pointless debate. I mean if he wasn't alive in the 1700s then we lost his history, which means he could have an entire different view. Not trying to be insulting, but it's hard to know what any of the Founding Fathers would think IF they were born in a modern time. The era of oppression has an influence on their views.
