I'm really confused on this question I have? We have not went over this in class, but yet we get questioned about it. Can you help me understand this, because it's foreign to me! Thanks!
Plasmodium falciparum, a protist causes fatal form of malaria. Propose a hypothesis to explain why P.falciparum can live in red blodd cells that contain normal hemoglobin but not in red blood cells that contain the sickle cell allele.
My guess was because the sicke cell was are a disorder and the protist could effect the normal one.
