help with 1998 dodge stratus ?

My 1998 Dodge Stratus (my first car) has a 2.4 liter 16 valve 4 cylinder inline engine with a cold air intake. I'm pretty sure it has a supercharger too, or atleast turbo. Also, it has flowmasters. The car has about 103,000 miles, but the engine has about 20,000 miles. Whenever I use regular gas, at redlights or stopsigns, when i hit the accelerator, even just like an inch, it jumps to 15-20mph. When i use plus, it doesnt do this. Why? Is it because of the size of my engine? Also, with regular, it idles at like 12 mph.
 
lmao, its no way you have a turbo or supercharger on a 2.4 litre dodge stratus, not even a cold air intake, my mom used to have a 98 stratus with that same engine and it was slow as all hell and i bet my life on it that it doesn't have a flowmaster on it either, try to make up a better lie next time kid, if the car really does accelerate and idles that fast then its a mechanical problem not performance lol
 
You don't have a turbo or supercharger.
Your car idles at 12 mph because you let off the brake pedal with the automatic transmission in gear.
When you step on the gas, even a little, the car moves out smartly. That just means it's probably firing on all cylinders and the transmission's OK.
All cars do this- get accustomed to it. You are a young driver. Each car will respond a little differently to control inputs. Take it easy until you get used to the car. And then KEEP taking it easy....
Take time to read the owners manual that came with the car. If you didn't get one, look it up on line. Keep the tires at 32psi, check the oil often, and keep it tuned up. Clunking and grinding noises are always serious. Get them checked out immediately.
