This is getting on my last nerves! Our family has Optimum Online and we've installed a NEW wireless router less than a year ago. Since day one, we've noticed that when MORE people get on the wifi network (secured) - it CRASHES and we have to reboot the Linksys router and HOPE that it works again. This happens so frequently that it's irritating my skin. We've called Optonline so many times and each time when the technician comes, they say it's not the line's fault. They have no idea what to do.
Is anyone going through this? Do I need a new wireless router? What can I do? I am infuriated everytime I am in the zone doing work or play a game- the internet will just simply crash because my little brother wants to play World of Warcraft.
Here are some other facts that might help:
- As many as 5 people can possibly go on the network at one time
- There is a very strong correlation that as more people get on the network, the network is proportionally going to fail as the number of people use the network
- We use Linksys that we bought from Bestbuy. Surely they won't sell old outdated routers?
