im going to salsa lessons tonight for the first time (beginners class)

i was told by the company to wear comfortable shoes, but no tennis.

All I have is flats, heels, boots, or tennis....I have no ''salsa shoes'' or anything like that yet, so which should I wear.

Also my clothing. I dont plan on getting too dressed up. would jeans do? this is my first lesson!

thanks!

For clothes, wear something you're comfortable in and that you can move in. If you have yoga pants or something that'll be great. Jeans are ok if you have nothing else, but try to wear stretchy ones. They can restrict your movements.

If you have a pair of flats with a smoother sole that'll do for now. Since it's your first lesson you'll want to avoid the heels. Tennis shoes have a tendency to stick to the floor which will make turning harder and you can possibly injure yourself if your body moves and your feet are stuck.

Look into buying a casual ballroom dance shoe if your teacher recommends it.

Dress code and shoes are vary from class to class depending on how serious your teacher is.

Have fun!
