HELP !!! What are The Laws in New Zealand as to How Loud can I play My Music?!?

How Loud can I Legally Play My Music?!? I Live In Nelson New Zealand

Im having problems with my Old Neighbors And whenever i put on any music they leave a nasty letter in my mail box ( I only Play Music During the Day as I Work from home and don't feel i should sit in silence for their happiness). We ARE NOT in a Flatting situation it is a separate house with fences and all keeping us apart .. they are known for making problems in the Neighborhood

SO im wanting to know what the legal Volume that music can be played at so that i can play it at this level so if they continue to complain I can honestly say Im doing Nothing wrong

To the best of my knowledge, if music can be heard from more than 25 feet away, then the authorities can brand you, lock you in the stockades for up to 7 days or confiscate your stereo and replace it with a mime.
