I just rec'd the salive test results and have my appt. next week to discuss w/ pharmacist; however, in the meantime, I'm alarmed by what the paperwork states:
Progesterone (17.5) and Ratio of Pg/E2 (9.8)
DHEA (349.3)
Notes at bottom state:
Progesterone to estradiol (Pg/E2) ratio and reported symptoms are consistent with estrogen dominance (what does this mean??). Supplementation with topical progesterone to corect this relative deficiency is a consideration.
The high DHEA and upper range testosterone are suggestive of metabolic syndrome (insulin resistance). Urine iodin, fasting blood sugar and insulin testing may be warranted.
The reported symptoms suggest adrenal gland dysfunction, although concomitant thyroid and/oriodine insufficiency cannot be ruled out.
Should I be freaking out? What does this all possibly mean and how urgent is this information? my next appt with my dr. isn't until Jan., but she doesn't have this saliva results.
thanks
