Help unlocking iPhone 3G?

I bought an iPhone off eBay and it has been locked to AT&T but I have a telstra sim card. I have tries using blackra1n but it keeps freezing on the iTunes symbol. I've also tries downgrading the phone but iTunes come up with an error. Please help unlock my iPhone 3g!
