My thumb was itching really bad a few minutes ago, so I checked it and there was this patch of white on it with a black thing in the middle that I thought was a sliver. So I squeezed and pulled it out, and quickly found out that it wasn't a sliver, but a stinger or something because the venom spread like crazy. It made my thumb go numb and swell up completely and a patch of redness climbed up my arm. The main thing that I can't figure out is what type of a bug would leave a stinger in the winter. I know it's not a bee, wasp, etc. because they're not around this time of year. If you have ANY ANSWERS please help me out!!
