Right - I race bikes on the road, but I've never once encountered anything like this to happen. I have come across worn chain rings and dodgy cassettes etc. but not once have I experienced this and it's really bugging me!

Everytime I go out on a ride, I'll shift my gears and within ten minutes the rear sprockets wobble and fall off onto the axle. Why could this be? It's been doing it non-stop for the past, what, 3, 4 months now...

After every time it does it I always take the rear wheel off and rebuild the gears at the back, ensuring that the screw in nut on the final gear is tight and wont come loose.

It'll be tight when i put it on, but then after about ten minutes of riding (sometimes I can't even get out of the garage ffs) it somehow comes loose and then I have the same problem of the bloody sprockets falling off!

Please, can anybody enlighten me as to why this is happening? Nothing needs replacing, everything is still in really good nick it just seems to not like me lol :/

Thanks so much in anticipation,

If these are cassette gears, you are probably missing the lock washer which fits between the last gear cog and the securing ring,or the thread where the lock ring engages is damaged. you local bike shop should be able to advise,
