Hello,

I have a Sprint SCP-6650 Katana II and I bought a USB cable from cellphoneshop online.

I installed the drivers from SPRINT and the phone shows up in the device manager as SANYO USB Modem SY02 and it's on Com1.

I open UniCDMA and it is set to com 1. I don't know what phone to use so I leave it on the default qualcomm setting, but when I go to memory and try to read it it says phone not connected.

CDMA Workshop will connect to the phone, but when I try to read the memory or write the prl it says Phone Does not Answer.

Other SPC reading programs can't connect or fail when trying to enter Data Manager mode?

Is there something I have to do to connect it? (My razrs I had to hold the # while powering them on to flash them.)?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Dave

Holy crap. I found it. In my modems I had the Sanyo USB Modem SY02. In my ports I had Sayno Diagnostic Serial Port something or other.

I changed the usb modem to 2, so I could set the diagnostic serial port to 1, and now it works!

Thanks everyone for your help!

Connect phone via UniCDMA. Set phone to Offline Mode D, then put it in DM Mode.

Connect via CDMA Workshop. Read Security Universal, EFS method and scan nvm/nvm/nvm_0002 to get SPC, which will be the second string of six digits. Set SPC to all zeros and write to phone. Then Program NAM settings and load Cricket PRL.

Done.

6:54:35 PM : Failed to switch into DM Mode!
6:54:45 PM : Mode change failed

I tried it but UniCDMA says phone not connected down at the bottom. and the log shows the above errors.

Been trying for 2 days. Nothing on here has even helped so far./ I've gotten this far and now I'm truly stuck. I read the spc, I set the spc to 000000 with katana_tool, I can read the phone in cdma workshop, do everything, but when I try to write the prl I get that error. Phone asks for spc code (6 digits).

Doesn't work that way berry.
Need to scan memory..
His problem is he neeRAB to check his comport... He doesn't have the phone on the correct comport...

is your battery fully charged?
sometimes it wont read with a low battery.

also, clean out the charging port on the phone sometimes its dirty and wont aloow it to read.

a toothbrush will do.

i also dip the toothbrush on a bit of 90-100% alchohol to clean it out real good then blow dry it with hot air....

i know it mights sound goofy to do all these things but believe me i have done it before on some phones...

what have you got to loose right?

to write a prl to a katana I usually myself use qualcomm's service tool never give me a problem cdma workshop seems to give me hassle alot of the time

Im telling you, you have a connection problem. WRONG COMPORT or COMPORT is closed or something else is using comport and thats what you are reading...

You dont know need to put in "dm" mode, is a memory address, to make this simpler there's a specific tool made for that phone model in particular which is the katana 2 correct(which only works on com1) , look over at mobile files.. Please dont start a thread overthere about this search and you shall find
