20. Which of the following things has the most thermal energy?
A) The ocean
B) A camp fire
C) A hot oven
D) A hot water bottle

I cant seem to recognize the difference between thermal and internal energy either. please help me with this.

24. If the average kinetic energy of the particles that make up a liquid increases,
A) the liquid changes state
C) the liquid loses heat to its surroundings
B) the temperature of the liquid increases
D) all of the above take place
isnt it D? whats your answer, can you explain too if you want.

27. The disorder in a system
A) usually increases
B) can decrease
C) can remain the same
D) A and C

i am so lost with this question and disorder!! please help!

20 - A - the ocean - far more energy because of the huge mass
24 - B . temp increaseswont necessarily change state unless it is close to boiling already and it will already be losing heat to its surroundings assuming it was hotter to start with
25 A .- increases - would only remain the same if no energy was going in or out which is unlikely.

20. D

Thermal energy is part of the overall internal energy of a system. It is the "latent heat" that causes the increase in temperature. Internal energy is the total kinetic energy due to the motion of molecules.

24. D -- because kinetic energy is the measure of energy from the motion of particles -- so as the molecules start moving faster, the liquid will get heated up and will lose heat to its surroundings -- however, it doesn't ALWAYS have to change it's state. It depends on how much the kinetic energy increases by

27. I think it will be D -- check on google.. and find more info on disorder!
