now before you suggest that I talk this over with my parents - I already did. They couldn't care less what was coming out of my mouth and before I could tell them why I wasn't sure about staying in this course, they ignored me (I am NOT kidding. they flat out told me, to deal with it on my own).

classes im taking (im a junior):
AP Lang. & Comp.
Physics H
PreCalcus
Spanish IV

i take school seriously and it's important to me. i really need help making a choice. SHould i drop down to US history regular or stay in AP?

is it worth it to stay? I'm so confused and my parents don't help at all.

I think you should drop down to US History, because it's better that you get a good grade rather than attend an AP course and flunk it.

Stay in AP. Usually (in my school, anyway) it's relatively easy to drop from a hard class to an easy one, even halfway through the year. But it's virtually impossible to move up from a lower class. There were a few people n my AP US History class that dropped out after the first semester, and that's okay. Stay in AP - it will probably be fine (especially if you like history). Start the class, and if it ends up being too hard, then drop out.

Also, remember to try to talk to students older than you, who have taken the course before. Ask them what it was like, and get more than one perspective if possible. Use that to try to determine what you want to do.

Good luck!

I think you should stay in, I took AP US History in high school and I loved it, it gives you more time to go over material, you may have to write more papers and take lots of notes, but it looks really good on your transcripts.
