HELP! PlayStation 2 will not read discs. ...other relating questions may be

found inside. Thanks for the help!? Hey! We had just turned off our PlayStation 2 for about 2 minutes and all of a sudden it will not read any DVD or PS2 discs...none. What would be the problem & would it be better to buy a new console or get it repaired?

Also, what would be better to get? A PS2 or a PS3 if we were buying a new console? We would like one that can play DVDs and PlayStation2 and 1 discs. What would you recommend? It must have these 3 things. :)

& last question... I have heard that for PlayStation 3, you need to program all Playstation 2 discs into it. Is this true?
We have tried everything to get it to work but it won't...
 
I think you should try having a few more goes, then try cleaning the disk try with a dry cloth or cleaning the fan, but just perceivier

-I'm no expert but PlayStation 3s are pretty cool, and it does that. The graphics are amazing
