Help: Place to buy an Orange N8 in Canada

I've looked all over the place, I can find tons of Black, Silver, and Green N8's avalible, but only found one Orange one in Canada at Mobile604.com where it comes up to just over $700.00 with tax and shipping. Trouble is that Newegg.ca has the black, silver, and green ones for about $450 with tax and shipping, a $250 difference. (Newegg.com has the orange one, but doesn't ship to Canada from that site.)

Does anyone have suggestions of where else to look?

Thanks

As far as I know, the orange and blue colours are exclusive to the nokiaUSA store. Your best bet might be to set up an account at one of those cross-border shipping places and order it that way.

If your in the vancouver area, there is a place just across the line that will accept orders for you for a really reasonable price, i have heard nothing bit great things about it, as for the colour, yeah its a US exclusive colour.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I was really curious about both replies saying that Orange (and Blue) are US only, so I checked. (nothing better to do at work) and below is the avalibility of the colours of the N8 in most countries. So everyone gets all the colours except a few Latin American countries, Canada, Philippines, Israel, and Australia. Not to prove you two incorrect, but for those who may be interested.

Canada Silver

China All
Vietnam All
Philippines Silver, Grey, Orange
Singapore All
Australia Silver, Grey, Blue, Green
Thailand All
India All

They won't. Newegg.ca offers a different product range and different pricing. Canadian customers must order products listed from the newegg.ca website to have it shipped to Canada. The oranage phone isn't available at newegg.ca.

Thanks for the info and thank you for breaking your silence to make your 1st post in the five years you've had an account here. :D Neway CI looks good, and would be a good alternative, but it's about $100 more than I would like to spend. I may just get the black one, but people may think that I'm using an Andriod handset. :P

Thanks Computergeek541, Just saw that myself, price was right and I ordered an orange one.
I wonder how Newegg can sell them for so much less than any one else? Others are selling for 600 - 800 dollars, and NokiaUSA is selling them at $469 and that's a special sale price.

I've never checked out Newegg before. Newegg is a reputable outfit? So these N8's they sell are fully legit, unlocked, brand new models with full factory warranty, shipped in a sealed box? And all you need to get it to work on your carrier of choice is to manually set the APN/MMS settings, and pop in your SIM?

Newegg is 100% above board. In fact, it's 110%. It's one of, if not the, biggest and most popular online vendors of computer parts and whatnot in the United States. They have good customer service and you get exactly what they claim. All you need to do is pop in your SIM card - the APNs are probably already on it.

What they're doing here is actually sending you the phone from the States but they apparently have some sort of tax agreement in place where they charge you HST or GST/PST and treat it as a sale from Canada. Really sweet.

Thanks for the info, inept. So all Newegg phones are BNIB, or would they have to open the box to unlock the phone? I read some of reviews on their site where people said the N8s are made in China, rather than Finland. I don't know if that would be an issue, and I'm not even sure if Rogers sell Finnish-made models only.

These are unlocked phones for the American market from Nokia USA, exactly as you would buy from NokiaUSA.com and they actually ship to you from the USA as well, but there will be no duties, taxes or anything. They do not have to open the package or do anything. You get a brand new phone straight from the factory, which is virtually guaranteed to be Chinese, with full warranty and everything.

I was going to order an orange or a blue but at that time only Nokia sold them and I got a silver from buy.com back in November. It is pretty enough (it looks very good actually) but if you want a head turner orange is probably the best and if you want the least common color the blue is probably the best.

I didn't think of the orange one as a head turner as I'm sure it would be, one of the reasons I wanted an orange one is so that it's easier to find in the house. :p

Ah, a fellow "misplace remote controls and keys" person. :) I actually ordered an orange one at Nokia for 490 (10% off) but they couldn't handle my credit card since I wanted it shipped to work, actually I first ordered a dark gray when it was the only color they had and they couldn't ship it to work so I canceled and later when I tried to get the orange they couldn't change my shipping address in their system which was set to work so I couldn't get it.
The phone has been extremely solid over all and when the fw updates come in a week or so and in February and in June it will only get better. Plus thanks to QT it seems to be a breeze to port apps to Symbian and there are many new apps that have been added.

Why would that scare you? You realize that HTC is a Chinese company albeit in Taiwan, Samsung make their phones with parts coming from their factory in China. The iPhone is made in China. Most laptops are made in China. Yes there are a lot of crap made in China but there are also high end products. I would frankly be more skeptic if a phone was made in Alabama or something. :)
