help on setting up cricket for laptop wireless

if it is cricket firmware you will not be able to tether. please see the instructions for flashing either generic or alltel to theis phone and you will be able to tether with those firmwares
 
besides the manual DUN settings for tethering a cricket phone, does anyone know if there are any other settings that need to be changed on the slvr L7c in order to be tethered? Whenever I try to connect my pc give me the "modem out of order" error, and the phone doesn't show that it's responding. I've installed the drivers from moto, but still having the problem. Any ideas?
 
Okay, I have my laptop setup with bluetooth turned on ready to use the razr v3c as a modem. I have ALL of the settings setup the way it shows in this thread.

My proxy is set to wap.mycricket.com port 8080

What I do not understand is that #777 fails. :confused: I get the error:

"The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings.

Are we certain that #777 is the right nuraber? :befuddled

I know it's connecting to the phone because it dials the nuraber and the phone lights up. :help:

What is the problem here? :doh:

I'm wondering if I need to do a firmware flash? What is the difference between the Alltel GATW_04.04.xxx firmware and the Cricket GATW_09.01.00R and GATW_09.02.00R versions? I currently have the 09.02 one. I've read that the Alltel one allows tethering with MPT but doesn't mention bluetooth, plus I'm wondering if tethering is being blocked on the carrier end.
 
I tried to connect via mpt instead of bluetooth and I get this error:

"The modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error."

I actually get further with bluetooth then I do with USB, but with BT it disconnects after dialing #777.
 
I've read that, but I tried the generic monster one I found on hofo and got my phone all setup with wap, mms, and everything working on the phone, but I still had the exact same problem with usb and bt tethering... I think it was GATW_04.06.xxx. I also tried the Alltel flash but couldn't even get wap to work on the phone; just got 404 errors.

...But you are telling me that #777 works on the Cricket network?

What "generic" version is the most recommended: alltel 04.04.xxx or 04.06.xxx or some other GATW_ file?
 
Okay, I tried Alltel GATW_04.04_xxx.shx file again and was able to get the WAP on the phone to work, but DUN gives me a new error:

"No modem at above nuraber."
 
Any one used sprint px500 with cricket settings? dialup modem?
I was able to program the mdn and min, prl (1042) using cdma wshop. but haven;t been able to use it as a dialup modem.. it does not dial..#777. can any one guide me in the right direction. thanks
 
Thank you thank you. I have flashed my q. I have tethered via USB and BT successfully. You guys are the greatest! I am so happy I joined this freakin' forum!!!
