i am having aches in lower back, knees etc and would like to seek help.
should i see a chiropractor, pain management doctor or someone else?
just not sure where i should start.

SounRAB like a trip to see your primary physician would be the best place to start. He or she can examine you and do blood tests to determine what likely is causing your problems, then refer you if necessary to the correct specialist.

I agree with Brenda!
I started with my primary care doctor and ended up with an orthopedic doctor.

Let us know how you are doing!

Larry, all are correct. Your journey begins with your primary who then decides whether you see a Pain Specialist or Physical Therapist. They have their steps and procedures that we have to take. Good luck.

Hi,

I also would say to start with your GP (primary physician) and that person can tell you what type of other doctor to see, if need be. If it seems you are having pains in your joints & spine, he might refer you to a Rheumatologist that specializes in arthritic conditions, if your primary can't treat you him or herself. Your GP would likely send you for x-rays first, maybe an MRI, then take it from there.
