Help on choosing a good cook book?

my fiance hinted on that she wants a cook book for xmas - she gud at cooking ( not at basic cooking,) she doesnt really want any famous celebrity cook book - -can any one help in me finding an all around the world type of cookbook- thanks
id like to buy her a really good cookbook
 
I recommend Joy of Cooking- 75 Anniversary Edition is just out as a great all around gourmet type book and Better Homes and Garden for a great all around american family cookbook with the basics.
